Finally… A Ski Trip

NOTE: When I started this blog nearly 7 months ago, I set up certain categories. One of those was “Travel”. I’m so excited for this to be the first post within that grouping.

I went skiing for the first time in 2008. I went again in 2009. I loved everything about it — the scenery, the sport, the excitement — so naturally, I thought this would be a regular occurence. Little did I know it would be a decade before I went again.

And that’s where we begin…

The day before Valentine’s Day, Ke’o (my wife) and I headed west for an 11-hour road trip. I had one condition for our drive — I wanted to take the “long way” so that we could see Garden City, KS, the city we called home for the first two years of our marriage (2009-2011). It was the first time we had been there since the day we moved away.

After seeing the old stomping grounds, we continued towards the mountains and eventually arrived in Keystone, Colorado. It was late in the day, so we got settled and prepared for our two days of skiing. I’m not going to walk through our daily activities. I skied a lot. Not much more to say than that. I’ll simply include some pictures with captions below:

And a few more…

Overall, Ke’o and I had a great time. I was finally able to get my ski fix. But I’m making a promise to myself that I’ll never go that long between ski trips ever again.
